Socialism: A Product of the Collectivist Mentality of the New Age Religion

Socialism is a product of the collectivist mentality of the New Age Religion (founded in Genesis 3) which promotes an impersonal, cosmic consciousness to which we all belong. It is the secular version of the New Age idea of “sharing” palatable to those who have no belief in the supernatural. Socialism is based upon the idea that man, who is not good or even neutral, will actually want to willingly sacrifice for the sake of the collective [Psalm 14:1-3; Romans 3:10-12; Ephesians 2:1-3; Colossians 1:21].  This type of thinking denies the reality of man’s selfishness and is contradictory to the idea of freedom.  This is why socialism has to be enforced by law and also why it has always failed.

Was Jesus a socialist? Some of you may have heard the argument made that Jesus was a socialist.  The “evidence” for this view is taken from a passage in Acts 2:

So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
[Acts 2:41-47 NASB]

Notice the very first verse in the passage above. Those being written about had first received Christ as their Savior. This reality produced the desire in them to share with others who had need after coming to the realization that their material possessions weren’t really theirs to begin with but God’s. It was an outward sign of an inward reality –  the reality of the saving freedom of Christ (and the provision of God for those He loves). It’s the same Spirit-caused transformation that takes place in the hearts of followers of Christ today. We share because we want to, not because a government agency tells us to.

This is why it sounds ridiculous to claim that Jesus – God Himself – would have thought the social, political or religious ideas of man were better than His own. This is why it sounds ridiculous to claim that He would have placed His mission – the saving of mankind – on hold in order to pledge His allegiance to and promote an idea less than Himself and teach it to His followers.

In reality, Jesus is not a socialist.

It has been my experience that those who usually use this argument already don’t believe the Bible.  They try to use it to prove it doesn’t actually say what it does. Standing on God’s Word to prove it’s not something to stand on is a bit logically baffling.

Enjoy some research I’ve done about the link between socialism, social justice and the New Age Religion which led to the creation of this ministry:

  1. Jon, your first paragraph, so succinctly defining socialism, puts into words what has been a nagging unverbalized sense of the growing evil in our nation and the world. That paragraph is so stunning it could be FRAMED and hung up like a warning signpost!

    • i am fascinated by the fact that everything in the world today, religions (of which i exclude Christianity), history, myths, world-wide megalithic architecture, etc., can all be traced back to one source – Babel – and, ultimately, to Satan’s Genesis 3:5 lie. how right Solomon is that there is nothing new under the sun [Ecclesiastes 1:9]. the dispersion of the people carried all of these things all around the world.

we can even go further and say that everything is New Age because it is the oldest lie that exists [Genesis 3:5].

what’s most interesting to me is that every belief system thinks there is an age of peace and prosperity coming. why? because there is! but Satan can’t stop it so he has disguised it in different ways. 3 ways, mainly:

Monotheistic. Monotheism teaches there is only one god. The Islamic version of what is to come is guised in monotheistic (religious/Abrahamic) terminology and appeals to those who many consider to be “unenlightened” because of their belief in a single god. (Listen to how “New Age” Ahmadinejad sounds when he talks about the 12th Imam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwN-_KxFaCc&feature=youtu.be

Pantheistic. Pantheism teaches all religions lead to the same god. This version is guised in pantheistic (spiritual) terminology and appeals to those who consider themselves to be “spiritually enlightened”. It is for those who inherently know there is something beyond them but reject the idea of being personally accountable to God.

Atheistic. This is the secular version guised in atheistic (political) terminology and appeals to those who consider themselves “intellectually enlightened” by human evolutionary science. It is palatable for those who do not believe in the supernatural or anything beyond themselves. Atheism teaches the non-existence of God. Hence, socialism and the other forms of government that happen as a result.

it’s the same message. there’s some kind of catastrophe coming because of humans and we need to change. i’m working on an article about all of this.

What’s on your mind?
