Jesus, the Purpose of Prophecy

It is a tragedy for the one who doesn’t know Jesus to be amazed at Bible prophecy but never trust in Him. He is the reason all of these things will happen. Jesus is the reason for everything [Colossians 1:16-17].

Prophecy drives us to either know Jesus or know Jesus better. Bible prophecy has a 100% accuracy record. If all of these things it has predicted have happened and are happening now, you better believe that when it says Jesus is coming back, He is. That is why it is of ultimate importance that we are spiritually prepared for His Return. Spirituality is from God and spiritual life can only be found in Jesus [John 14:6].

Know Jesus. We can know Jesus by repenting of, or turning away from, our sin and trusting our lives with Him who created us. It is then that we are saved from an eternal death [John 3:16]. If we already know Him, we can know Him better by shoving our noses deep into God’s Word for spiritual strength and guidance. This is how we will be equipped to handle the days ahead. And, whether it does or it doesn’t go down in our time, our families will benefit from our own diligent spirituality [John 4:53; Acts 16:31].

Prophecy pushes us to evangelize. When we come to know Christ, although we are still in the world, we are no longer of the world [John 17:15-16]. Jesus frees us from sin! He saves us from an eternal death and promises to keep us from the frenzying flood of dissipation that is rising and the hour of decision that is coming upon the whole world [1 Peter 4:4; Revelation 3:10; Joel 2:32].

This is the real freedom of Christ [Galatians 5:1]. Christ is coming back! How do we not tell others about Him?
