Can you find any nations listed in the Old Testament prophets that Christ physically judges upon His return that are not located in the Middle East?
I asked this question because prophecy teachers know the Old Testament prophetic books list the nations Christ judges upon His return by name. They also know they’re all located in the Middle East. That’s not in dispute. However, in order to make these passages support their Western Antichrist theories, some have imagined that there will be a giant war in which the West will wipe out Islam after which a Western Antichrist from Europe will rise to power. This war, they say, takes place in Ezekiel 38 and 39.
As a result of this claim, they have to maintain the position that all the literal references in the Old Testament to these Middle Eastern nations are actually just allegorical names of European nations because, after all, we’re waiting for a European Antichrist. Where is the biblical evidence for this? Did God lie to His prophets when He told them the names of these nations? Does this reasoning make sense to you?

This is a worst-case scenario of assuming what you’re trying to prove.
The Battle of Gog of Magog
If you’ve spent any time browsing prophecy web sites in the past year, you’ve probably seen an increasing number of references to Ezekiel 38 and 39, or what has generally been called the Battle of Gog of Magog. The reason for this is that many prophecy teachers believe these chapters tell of a pre-Armageddon invasion of Israel from the north led by Russia, which will ultimately result in Islam’s destruction paving the way for a Western Antichrist.
With recent events concerning Russia and Ukraine, many believe Russia, or Magog, is gathering her allies for this invasion and that Vladimir Putin, or Gog of Magog, is getting ready to lead this invasion. We’re going to examine this popular view by looking at a few passages in these two chapters and by consulting respected, scholarly Bible maps.
Here are the questions for us:
- Is Ezekiel 38-39 a pre-Armageddon invasion of Israel?
- Is Vladimir Putin Gog of Magog?
- Is Vladimir Putin the Antichrist?
- Is Magog in Russia?
Before we go to the text, it’s a good idea for you to read through chapters 38 and 39 so you can know the context. Now, let’s examine a few passages in these two chapters to see if we can bring some clarity to the issue.
Ezekiel 38:11
and you (Gog) will say, ‘I will go up against the land of unwalled villages. I will go against those who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates, [Ezekiel 38:11 NASB, parentheses added]
Ezekiel says Gog will go up against Israel, which is described as a “land of unwalled villages” and a people who “live securely”. Can we honestly say Israel dwells in peace and security today? At what time before the return of Christ will Israel dwell in peace and security? Daniel tells us in chapter 9:
And he (Antichrist) will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.” [Daniel 9:27, parentheses added]
Ezekiel 38:11 is referring to the time of peace the Antichrist establishes with Israel during the first half of the 7-year tribulation period. In fact, it’s here where this peace is being broken because he has decided it’s finally time to invade the “beautiful land” [Daniel 11:41, 8:25; 1 Thessalonians 5:3].
Ezekiel 38:17
‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Are you (Gog) the one of whom I spoke in former days through My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring you against them? [Ezekiel 38:17 NASB, parentheses added]
According to this verse, if Putin is Gog then we should be able to find references to him in the pages of the other Old Testament prophets. But where? Can you find any references to Gog in the other prophetic books? Have a look. You’ll have a difficult time trying to find this other person in the pages of the prophets. However, there is one person of whom the Old Testament prophets spoke – the Antichrist.
Ezekiel 39:7
“My holy name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel; and I will not let My holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. [Ezekiel 39:7 NASB]
God says, after Gog is defeated, He will no longer allow his name to be blasphemed. What about the Antichrist? Isn’t he supposed to come after this?
And he (Antichrist) opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven. [Revelation 13:6 NASB, parentheses added]
Ezekiel 39:25-29
Ezekiel 39:25-29 NASB Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name. [26] “They will forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they perpetrated against Me, when they live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid. [27] “When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be sanctified through them in the sight of the many nations. [28] “Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer. [29] “I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD.
If Ezekiel 38-39 is a pre-Armageddon invasion of Israel, how can Israel, afterward, “live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid”? Is there no Battle of Armageddon still to come? Is there no Antichrist still to come? Do you see the disconnect?
Additionally, in verse 29 God says, “I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” which is a description of the spiritual restoration of Israel to God after the Antichrist is defeated that is consistent with what the rest of Scripture says about this time.
So far, it’s not looking good for Putin and whatever ambitions he might have to invade the Middle East, but maybe his game plan can be salvaged if we find that Magog is in Russia. Let’s have a look.
Mapping Magog
Magog – IVP Atlas of Bible HistoryTo understand prophecy, it’s important that we understand the lay of the land at the time when it was written. If Ezekiel wasn’t describing places that actually existed during his time, then his prophecy wouldn’t have had any relevance to the people who lived then. And if it had no relevance to the people who lived then, it can‘t have any relevance to those who lived after him, either. That includes us. Why? The reason is, if Ezekiel wasn’t describing places that existed during his time then we wouldn’t know where to look now to find Magog (this applies to the rest of the prophets as well). It could be anywhere. In fact, I submit to you that this is the fallacy that many prophecy teachers commit which is why we hear things like “Russia is Magog” and “America is Babylon,” etc. So, where was Magog when Ezekiel wrote his prophecy? The most trusted, scholarly Bible maps place Magog in modern-day Turkey.
Magog is in modern-day Turkey not Russia. This is consistent with the geography we’ve already surveyed in Daniel 11 and, as we will see, the rest of Scripture concerning these things.
Gog is the Antichrist
Magog – The Holman Bible AtlasThere is no separate person known as Gog who will invade the Middle East before the Antichrist does. Ezekiel 38-39 is a retelling of Armageddon from Ezekiel’s perspective and Gog is none other than the Antichrist of whom the Old Testament prophets spoke. Knowing this, let’s revisit our questions from the beginning:
- Is Putin Gog of Magog? No, because Gog is the Antichrist.
- Is Putin the Antichrist? No, because Magog is in Turkey not Russia (and he is also not from the line of Ishmael).
- Therefore, can Ezekiel 38-39 be a pre-Armageddon invasion of Israel? The answer, again, is no.
And, by the way, if the Antichrist is coming from the area known today as Turkey, what other popular candidates can we eliminate as well?
Magog – The New Moody Atlas of the BibleNow, in light of these things, it’s important for us to be as cautious and conservative as possible to avoid unneeded speculation. What this does not mean is that Russia absolutely won’t be involved in a war in the Middle East someday. What this does mean is that Ezekiel 38-39 doesn’t say it will, nor does it say anywhere else in prophecy. It also means Russia will not control the Middle East even if it is involved in a war. We can now remove Russia from our focus (and even our peripheral vision) and focus on the area of the world where prophecy has been and is now taking place.
Loose ends of the earth
Let’s have a look at one more passage that has tempted prophecy teachers to conclude that Russia is Magog.
“Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On that day when My people Israel are living securely, will you not know it? You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army; [Ezekiel 38:14-15 NASB, see also 38:6]
Gog will come from the “remote parts of the north.” Since there is no landmass more north of Israel than Russia, prophecy teachers conclude that Russia is Magog. However, we have already identified from Daniel 11 where this north kingdom is and that, at the end time, it will be ruled by the last king of the north – the Antichrist [Daniel 11:40].
This area of land is in modern-day Turkey et al, and we saw above that Ezekiel tells us the same thing by identifying the Antichrist as Gog of the land of Magog, which is in the same place. If we apply a conservative interpretation to this passage that doesn’t go beyond the borders of Scripture, the “remote parts of the north” becomes the northernmost parts of this north kingdom, or the northernmost parts of Turkey.
Peace deals [Ezekiel 38:11, Daniel 9:27]
All of these things, and especially the prophetic geography, are just some of the reasons why we don’t have to watch everyone who steps onto the world stage trying to make peace between Israel and the surrounding nations. This is an unwarranted and fruitless activity and only serves to muddy the waters.
Even if peace is made between Israel and the surrounding nations tomorrow, that doesn’t mean the one who made it will be the Antichrist. Just making peace isn’t enough. Anyone can seek to make peace between Israel and the surrounding nations and some may be successful, but that’s not all Scripture says about it. There are four additional requirements (at least) that help us to identify the right peacemaker:
- Daniel’s north kingdom must already exist encompassing parts of Turkey/Syria/Lebanon/Iran/Iraq [Daniel 11]
- He must rise to power in this north kingdom; He must come from the area known today as Turkey [Daniel 11; Ezekiel 38:1-4]
- A ten-kingdom Islamic Caliphate must already exist (with the north kingdom being one of the ten) [Daniel 7:8, 7:24]
- He must seize three additional Islamic kingdoms thereby securing his reign over the Caliphate [Daniel 7:8, 7:24]
Peace comes after the peacemaker is ruling the Caliphate. He would have no authority to make peace if he wasn’t already ruling. The rule of the Caliphate comes after he has risen to power in and is ruling a reunited north kingdom. (I also want to add here that there are those who believe the Antichrist will be Jewish and so go about watching Jewish leaders trying to make peace with the surrounding nations. Consider, if peace is made between Israel and the surrounding nations, naturally a Jew will be have to be the recipient of the deal on behalf of Israel. That doesn’t mean he is the Antichrist. In other words, two people, one from each side, are required to make a treaty and prophetic geography tells us which one to watch.)
The Bible is very specific for our benefit. Let’s take advantage of it! These events plus this entire study is what makes saying things like “Barack Obama is the Antichrist” incredibly irresponsible. This only contributes to the deception to which the Church has already fallen prey concerning Islam. I’ve even read that John Kerry is the Antichrist because he’s been trying to make a peace deal at the time of this writing! Where will it end? By this logic, you could propose a peace treaty and it could be ratified which would make you a candidate for the Antichrist! How does that make you feel, Christian?
This is why I lament that so many lovers of prophecy are missing the very things they so long to see! What’s even more tragic is that they think they are watching them! Christians are watching Russia, which the Bible has nothing to say about, rather than taking note of the rise of Turkey and it’s desires to once again unite the Islamic world and rule a revived Caliphate (a new Ottoman Empire) based on the commands of a religion that is encouraging people in the Middle East to murder and behead Christians and Jews right now who do not pledge thought and deed to Islam [Revelation 13:16-17]. Are we ready to wake up, Church?

Vladimir Putin (see also “Daniel 2&7”) – The Chief Prince GOG of MAGOG, from Mesech and Tubal?
1) Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin – means something like world ruler, son of world ruler – and Putin means something like “path”.
2) Putin is a very unfamiliar name in Russia, despite this fact, it is hard to find out where Putin is coming from. Putin himself says that both his parents died before he was elected president in 1999, and he refers to his grandfather, Spiridon Putin, according to “reliable” sources came from the city of Tver see:

3) It is hardly possible to find any piece of information about his parents or the first 10-15 years of his life. The most reliable information is from a lady from Georgia, Ivana Putina (82), who says she was Putin’s mother. She became pregnant by a “passing traveller” and raised him until she met another man who would not know of Vladimir, and therefore she adopted him away to St. Petersburg. Many of Ivana Putinas neighbors confirming the story (of a boy totally lonely, walking around and killing animals for fun, etc, ) have also allegedly received death threats for telling their stories. There is a record of one Vladimir Putin who attended a local school in the city where Ivana comes from. There have been two journalists, who independently have tried to investigate his background, also by contacting Ivana Putina. Both died in “unnatural” ways, one in a plane crash, and one was liquidated.
Georgian scholars claim that Mesech and Tubal corresponds to the area of Georgia.

So is this man Gog???
Are we to read the following passage:
“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him…”
as:
Could be:…set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the president from Georgia, and prophesy against him…..
We are given some places/people as help when working with these texts. These are the prince of Rosh,[a] Meshech, and Tubal, Gomer and Togarmah. Many scholars says that these names sounds like ”Russia” (Rosh – russia, Meshech – Moscow etc), meaning that Gog will be from Russia etc.
However, when looking closely at these names, we will find some interesting details, not absolutely denying these guesses, but not confirming this way of ”thinking” about these texts either.
First of all; ”The prince of Rosh”, is not the correct translation from Hebrew. The meaning of the letters:
נְשִׂיא, רֹאשׁ מ
Is “Chief Prince of” or “President of” (try Google translate) meaning that Gog is a president, a leader.
The KJVs translation is more accurate and precise:
“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal…”
Gog is a chief prince, maybe a president, ruling Magog (apparently) but what about Meschech and Tubal? Is he a ruler of these places also, or is he originally from this place – The Chief Prince OF Meshech and Tubal? These places are mentioned here, but not among the allies in verse 5 and 6.
Anyhow – this person Gog, is a leader with a great army. In addition, he have some allies. They might be Mesech and Tubal, but for sure, these are:
“Persia, Ethiopia,[b] and Libya[c] are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.” (Ez. 38:5-6)
The names given for “Persia, Ethiopia and Libya” are somehow misleading. Persia is Iran, as we all know, but the area of the ancient Persia, was quite bigger, also including todays Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia. The expansion of extreme groups, as IS, may create some concern about what is going on in these areas. “Ethiopia” and “Libya” are not precisely the places covering these countries today (why it is in my opinion misleading to use these names). The correct words for these two areas, mentioned together with Persia, is Cush and Put.
The Cushitic-speaking peoples today comprise the Agaw, Oromo, Somalia, Afar and and several other tribes meaning that Cush covers the whole horn of Africa; Djibouti, Erithrea, Ethiopia and Somalia, (Sudan) all the way up to Egypt.
Put, which is translated Libya, is more likely the Countries covering the northern coasts of Africa.
Today it might be easier to understand that the Islamic northern Africa together with Iran will attack Israel, than the Horn of Africa with the “Christian” Ethiopia, will do the same. However, with the strong influence of Islam in some parts of Ethiopia, Somalia, Erithrea and also Egypt and Sudan, the picture could change very fast.
Regarding Togarmah, this is a person appearing in the Book of Genesis, chapter 10, and he was related to Japhet. Today he should cover the peoples in the Caucasus and western Asia, including the Georgians, the Armenians and some Turkic peoples. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Togarmah)
Regarding Gomer, these countries are harder to find today, as he was the son of Japhet, and therefore a long time ago was spread over many parts of Europe. However, we know that he is from Europe, as Japhet represents the Indo-European people.
Gogs’ army seems, in other words, to be more or less all the countries surrounding Israel. Amazingly Israel has until then survived smaller wars and attacks, but now It is just a question of time before they will lose, facing all the countries in “the world”. Nevertheless, the hand of God will defeat this enormous army, Ezekiel 39:3-4:
That was totally interesting. Some years ago I researched the Table of Nations/descendants and these were my conclusions:

2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer (Southeast Europe, France, Scandinavia/Denmark, The Cimbri/German/Anglo Saxon tribes, the Celts and Gauls), and Magog (the Scythians (known as the blond haired) and dwellers near the Caspian Sea, parts of India), and Madai (the Medes), and Javan (Tyre, the Ioxians and Greeks), and Tubal (the Tibirini of the southern Caucasus), and Meshech (the Moschi or Muscovs, later Russians after crossing the Caucasus), and Tiras (throughout the Aegean, they were the Etruscans of Italy).
3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz (Armenia, Minni and Ararat, eventually Teutonics: Scandinavians, Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, Icelanders ), and Riphath (the Paphlagonians (translated to ‘Europe’), Kaskas, Anatolia), and Togarmah (Georgians/Armenians, north of Assyria).
4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah (means: Hellenic, pre-Germanic tribes, Alamanni, Greek Isles, Italy), and Tarshish (Spain), Kittim (Greek-Latin people, Sicily, Cyprus), and Dodanim (the Dardani, Rhodes).
5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
Gomer was the ancestor of the Anglo Saxons and Cimbri/pre-Germans and those who later crossed from northwest Europe to the British Isles to become the Gauls then Celts.”
Hi, P2alm. I also think Putin is not the AC nor the Prince of Gog, most likely, but I don’t think we should take our eyes off Russia. I can’t imagine they’ll be uninvolved in the last events/battles as they share a strategic border with Turkey and are allied with too many of the players. Not to mention that Islam has played a key role in Russia’s history from the 8th century. Many of it’s territories are overwhelmingly Islamic. There are upwards to 20 million Muslims in Russia (and the number is growing), two million just in Moscow plus an equal number of migratory workers there. To put that in perspective, there are approx. 6 million Muslims in Libya and Jordan, and 25 million In Saudi Arabia. That seems like a lot of Mohammedans for Russia to play no role whatsoever. Just my thoughts..
All of this is true and interesting—Turkey or Russia….I think I made a discovery that no one seems to see: WHEN WILL GOG INVADE ISRAEL? I just finished a book THE LOOP, and I studied all the OLD TEST scriptures on the day of the Lord,which is an invasion of a PEACEFUL ISRAEL from the north.
THE DAY OF THE LORD: A FORGOTTEN SUBJECT
Ezekiel 7 and 38 say: “This is the day I have spoken of”
Gog is the one all prophets have predicted…..
And Gog invades a peaceful ISrael. This invasion can only take place at the e 3.5 year mark of Daniel’s final 7…..Why? Israel will not be at peace at the end of the final 7 right? AND …… if one studies closely the judgments at the end of Ezekiel 39.,one finds that there re 5 word for word armageddon matches……So how can this be?
All of the OT has this same end time paradigm:
peace,
invasion from the Assyrian, Gog, northern king etc…..
Armageddon,
Jesus coming back……
What most of these texts DO NOT say is that there is a 3.5 year time frame after the invasion where the Antichrist will rule from Jerusalem–in over 25 places, the OT prophets never mention this 3.5 year time frame of the AC ruling from Jerusalem……….
and yet we know it will happen.. right?
So the only way one can interpret EZEKIEL 38 and 39 is:
As Daniel 11 says, the Assyrian SHIA Muslims sweep through the SUNNI States.. all this is being set in motion right now…….
Then they will turn back to ISrael and invade a peaceful Israel and cause her to FLEE…. most people miss FLEE and THE DAY.. they sort of skip over these important words…. and yet they appear over and over in these END TIME passages……..
SO EZEKIEL 38, 39 should be seen as:
In the day, Israel will be peaceful–(Paul said when people say peace, the day of the Lord will take place)
Gog invades
(unspoken-3.5 years of rule where ISrael becomes a desolate nation
Armageddon where from that day forward the world will know Israel’s God…..
And we see a match in the above with Ezekiel 7-11–an EXACT MATCH!

Do you see how the elements of what Jesus and Paul predicted are here? Paul said the day is a destruction when people say peace. We see above those very words, right? Jesus predicted that when you see the worst gentile who ever lived, (the antichrist) Israel should flee to the mountains. What do you know? That same prediction is here also! What did Jesus say the antichrist would do? He will go into the temple and defile it by setting up the abomination that causes desolation.
What act will the antichrist do next? He will set up the abomination in the temple, right?
Ezekiel 8, the very next chapter, uses that very word, “abomination!” and “25 people pray towards the east.” (I expect that the antichrist will be Muslim, and so what else does Ezekiel say these defiling people will do? He says they will pray facing away from Jerusalem, which is towards Mecca!)
Ezekiel 9 goes on to state that after the abomination in the temple, and after the antichrist has ruled for 3 ½ years, as God’s wrath is about to hit, the Jews are marked on their foreheads to protect them from said wrath.
(Rev 7 has this same prediction: 144,000 Jews are marked on their FOREHEADS as God’s wrath is about to hit.)
Ezekiel 10 and 11:
Then what would we expect to happen as God’s wrath hits? We would expect the Lord to return and land on a mountain east of Jerusalem. And lo and behold, that’s EXACTLY what this progression says will happen here! The glory of God (Jesus, the King of Glory) will come back and land on a mountain east of Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:4 has this exact same prediction about the returning Lord.
Thus, in Ezekiel chapters 7-11, we see an exact match with what Jesus, Zechariah and Paul said would take place at the last 3-½ years of time:

Thanks for reading! My name’s Jon. No worries (You couldn’t have known since I haven’t posted it anywhere). I think “the many” are the nations that surround Israel. The Antichrist will make a covenant between the one (Israel) and the many (the surrounding Islamic nations — Joel 3:12). Then, he will break it and lead those nations against Israel.
“Ezekiel 38:11 is referring to the time of peace the Antichrist establishes with Israel during the first half of the 7-year tribulation period. In fact, it’s here where this peace is being broken because he has decided it’s finally time to invade the “beautiful land” [Daniel 11:41, 8:25; 1 Thessalonians 5:3].” OR IS THIS AFTER THE 1000 YEARS OF PEACE WHEN SATIN IS LOOSED FOR A SEASON?
I believe the event at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ on the earth is different. The Antichrist and the False Prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire at Armageddon [Rev 19:20] but Satan is bound for the thousand years in the Abyss [Rev 20:22-23]. Two different places.
Then, when the thousand years are over, for whatever reason, God lets Satan out of the Abyss. Satan (only him) leads another rebellion but this time his army is consumed by fire and he is thrown into the Lake of Fire where the Antichrist and False Prophet already are [Rev 20:10].

I certainly think Turkey and the countries that comprise the Arab League are and will continue to be proxies of the final world empire based on Da 7:24, 8:24. Another thing to consider is that the cataclysmic events of high food inflation, the great earthquake and then the seven trumpets is going to accelerate change the world. Historically, change can happen quite quickly. The change from the pound being the world reserve currency to the dollar taking its place happen quickly following WWII. The very wealthy families and central banks of the world, including the BIS, and the large oil companies have been major players behind the scenes shaping the world. That also holds true in the Middle East largely due to the vast amounts of high grade oil that is easily brought to market. I can envision the above mentioned, behind the scene players, utilizing Islam as the control mechanisms behind enforcing the mark of the beast.

[15] And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Is that why England and now Europe is being rapidly seeded with Islamic refugees? You chop off a few heads in broad daylight in town squares in Europe and other western Countries and people will rapidly comply with the new mark of the beast. We have about ten years or less before the middle of the tribulation, and the body of Christ being caught up on the air to be with the Lord. A lot can happen in ten years.

I like this and it makes so much sense except for one thing. If this event is the real Armageddon instead of a Pre-Armageddon, how can Israel burn their fuel and supplies for seven years like it states in Ezekiel 39:9,10? This is the part that makes me think it is earlier. Thanks so much.
Thanks for the question. Some details in Bible prophecy are simply amazing, are they not? I would suggest that these are, perhaps, the first 7 years of Christ’s thousand year reign on the earth. More study is needed, but consider the end of chapter 39 where the Lord restores Israel. If this was a pre-Armageddon invasion, Israel would still be blinded [Romans 9-11] and awaiting the Antichrist.
Then,
War of Psalms 83; Israel prospers after eliminating their boundary neighbors.
War of Gog eliminates enemies, Israel begins building new temple in Jerusalem; secure because 2 prophets/witnesses protect them for 3 1/2 years as they worship there Rev 11: 3-13.
Then God protects those of Israel who follow Him, through the 3 1/2 years of the antichrist Rev 12:6.

This is a great topic as presented with much truth straightening out the preconceptions of reformation theology which looses the focus of the Bible prophets …. this focus is upon the Middle East …. P2LAM has done much to make correction and bring the prophetic scriptures in line
I would suggest the following items for related thought:
Israel is currently “protected” from extinction and existing in the land under the Lord’s jurisdiction for His purposes …. this should be evident by the tiny nation’s supernatural survival since 1948 …. if not, the nation’s virulent enemies of the Muslims would have crushed Israel by the shear overwhelming numbers round about
The Lord’s ways can include many things like support from the US and also the fact that Israel’s advanced military advantage is apparent over their enemies
He has Israel there for a reason …. the nation must experience the coming time of Jacob’s trouble, the 70th week decreed, same as the coming tribulation
He must bring a remnant of believing Israel under His covenant during the 70th week [Ezekiel 20:33-44] and those that turn survive the tribulation will enter and populate His millennial kingdom as mortals just after the days of the tribulation [Matthew 24:29-31]
It is the Lord who will confirm His covenant with Israel [the 1/3 “many” who will turn [Zechariah 13:8-8] during the 70th week decreed [Jeremiah 31:31-37; Daniel 9:24-27] …. it is the other prince of the Muslims who will come to desecrate
There will be not be some sort of peace agreement between the other prince and Israel …. this one will be a war monger from the get go and Israel will never be blindsided by a Muslim Caliph even though this prince of Satanic origin will be allowed to subdue Israel for a short period of time [1260 days, 42 months] [Jeremiah 30:8; Daniel 11:41; Micah 5;5-6; Zechariah 14:4-5; Matthew 24:15-16; Revelation 12:6; 12:14; 13:1-5]

The land of Magog was Satan’s first nesting in the Midle East after the Noahic flood …. the human Magog was the king
The first will come at the Middle of the 70th week decreed and Satan’s [gog’s] entire ploy will be “burried” at the battle of Armageddon 1260 days later …. then Satan will be sent to the abyss [Revelation 20:1-3]
The next will come at the ending of the Lord’s millennial kingdom and Satan [gog] will be destroyed in the Lord’s lake of fire [Revelation 20:10]
The little horn will arise arise at the beginning of the coming tribulation some where in the vortex of the convergence of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran …. these same regions are named in Ezekiel 38 by the ancient early post flood names …. the land of Magog seems to be at the center of the vortex
He will arise among 10 Islamic leaders of which he will pluck and replace three that will oppose him [Daniel 7; Revelation 17:12]
Note that Ezekiel names the “land” of Magog, Mesheck, Tubal, Togarmah, Gomer, Persia, Cush, and Put as confederates …. these were the original post flood land populations before their migrations out of the Middle East [Cush and Put were the northern components Iraq and Syria today and not further migrations to Aftica …. and Gomer was northern Iran with Persia being the southern component]
Today’s Turkey could be the smaller nesting of the little horn, but I believe this initial staging will be in Iraq [Mosul] …. the core of the Assyrian Empire was at Nineveh on the Tigris River
The Assyrians drove Magog’s contingent out of the Middle East and over the Caucasus, displace them, and ruled the Middle East for about 1300 years before being conquered by the neo-Babylonians …. the little horn is symbolically called the “Assyrian” in Micah 5;5-6
So the 7 Middle Eastern kingdoms of Satan’s beast are the “land” of Magog, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, northern Selecuid, the little horn’s initial and smaller kingdom, and his expanded/divided kingdom with the 10 other horns [kings]
The first 5 have fallen …. the 5th just before the first century …. then all of the prophets move to a future day and the 6th and 7th kingoms of the little horn
I would also suggest that the burning of the weapons by Israel at the termination of the battle of Armageddon will transpire during the first 7 years of the Lord’s millennial kingdom …. the same will also have to cleanse the land by burying the dead bodies of the little horn’s Muslim armies

Hi Isaiah 14 calls the AC the king of Babylon. The beast has the mouth of a lion Babylon (Iraq). Micah 5 calls the AC the Assyrian and associates him with the land of Nimrod (Iraq). The capital of both the Assyrian empire and Babylonian empire was in Iraq. You already established that the empire to be revived was before John’s time and the empire to be revived is Babylon (Iraq). While I do agree that the AC will eventually at some point during the tribulation be in control of Turkey. He will rise in and make his capital in Babylon (Iraq). He can still be the prince of Tyre, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, the Assyrian, king of the north and king of Babylon and rule from or have the kingdoms headquarters be in Babylon (Iraq). Remember the beast in Revelation 13 is body like a leopard (Seleucid like kingdom) feet of a bear (Persia/Iran) mouth of a lion (Babylon/Iraq) the headquarters. Jeremiah 50 and 51 and Revelation 17 and 18 talk about the destruction of literal Babylon, a literal city (alas alas that great city!). I basically agree with everything Rodrigo Siva believes, really think hes on to something.
I’m confused about the prophecy that has a western force (perhaps Turkey) attacking Iran as the fulfillment of the Ram/Goat prophecy. Wasn’t this prophecy fulfilled already? (Dan. 8:5-11) Any thoughts?
