Here are 3 things to consider when identifying the biblical False Prophet:
- The Bible tells us the False Prophet will have two horns like a lamb and speak as a dragon [Revelation 13:11].
- We know Jesus Christ is described as the lamb of God in several places throughout Scripture [John 1:29; Revelation 5:6, etc.].
- We know Satan is described as a dragon [Revelation 13].
Question: Why is the False Prophet described as being “like a lamb” and speaking “as a dragon?”
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. // Revelation 13:11 NASB
Consider: He is described that way because he will be a false Jesus (“like a lamb”) speaking lies (“as a dragon”) in order to deceive people into believing he is the real Jesus and that they should, therefore, listen to him. He has “two horns” because he may be in charge of two powers like the Antichrist will be in charge of ten [Revelation 13:1].
This means Satan’s deception may even go so far as having the false Jesus look like humanity’s perception of the real Jesus in order to make the deception complete.
It should also be noted that the False Prophet shows up after the Antichrist has risen to power [Rev 13:1-18]. First the Antichrist:
And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. // Revelation 13:1 NASB
Then the False Prophet:
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. // Revelation 13:11 NASB
So, the question for us becomes: Is there a religion other than Christianity that teaches Jesus will return to the earth?
The answer is yes — Islam. And just this week the whole world learned about it.
According to Islamic eschatology, Isa, the Islamic Jesus figure, will return, deny he was ever the savior of mankind, tell the Christians and Jews they got it all wrong about God, encourage people to follow Islam and its messiah figure — the Islamic Mahdi — and join the nation that is reviving even now and attempting to conquer the world. Sound familiar?
He [the False Prophet] exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. // Revelation 13:12 NASB
And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. // Revelation 13:14 NASB
I would encourage Christians by saying now is the time to start studying these things for ourselves. We need to stop letting ourselves be distracted by interpretations of prophecy that came about before God’s unsealing [Daniel 12:4] and start watching the correct geographic area of the world that all the prophets wrote about.

Interesting …im just watching and praying ..have you considered this… Why couldnt the pope be isa? Hes called the vicar of christ meaning christ on earth…he is also making overtures to islam… Rome teaches that one of thr prophets in rev. 11 are a pope.. Now consider if an islamic leader becomes the anti Christ … The beast that gets slain but head was healed ..why not through the false prophet prayer for him …so how about a chrislam anti christ … The pope dont care if other religions teach there on thing ..so how about the Chrislam teaching going around rome does not say who the other prophet will be … Why not the malhdi…the book of daniel says he will do that … He will have help from a foreign God …why not a apostate christianity ..in rev. 17 it says the beast will hate the whore
The false religion he uses to take control of the world religion ..he will destroy it .. It cant be allah he destroys got to be the religion of the false prophet ..

Well isn’t the false prophet a religious figure …isn’t religion part of the beast 666 system and doesn’t the false prophet give the anti Christ legitimacy
Yes he is, false religion is part of the beast system and the False Prophet points people to the Antichrist. The Pope doesn’t fit the prophetic geography laid out for us in the Old Testament prophets and in Revelation. He doesn’t claim to be Jesus. And Rev 13:1-18 suggests the false Prophet shows up after the Antichrist and for other reasons the article suggests.
We also have a religion — Islam — that has eschatology that’s a mirror image of biblical eschatology. Christianity’s bad guys are Islam’s good guys and Christianity’s good guy is Islam’s bad guy. I’m not sure Satan could devise a better fit.
Other evidence, though peripheral, is if the Pope suddenly materialized in Mecca, Islam would take his head just like they took the head of the French Catholic Priest. The Pope would be a prize and I would suggest that one of Islam’s main goals is to sack Vatican city.
