Will the North Kingdom in Daniel chapter 11 soon be reformed?

10.23.2011

Daniel chapter 11 tells us the geographic location of the Antichrist’s rise to power. This was the same area ruled by the Seleucids (the King of the North) in Daniel Chapter 11 after the break-up of the Greek Empire upon the death of Alexander the Great. It is present-day Turkey/Syria/Lebanon. The Antichrist is referred to as the King of the North in this chapter around verse 36 until the end. This, among a myriad of other biblical clues, suggests that that the Antichrist will arise from a revived Islamic Caliphate and not a revived Roman Empire.

If this is true, and considering the forceful flourishing of Islam around the globe at this time, eventually we would expect to find some confirmation of this from world events and, in fact, we do.

It has recently been reported that plans to invade Syria are being considered by NATO and that Turkey would be the one to lead the invasion. Why is this important? Because, before the Antichrist rises to power as King of the North, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon must again be joined together.

Interestingly, there would appear to be further biblical confirmation of the future destruction of Damascus, the capitol of Syria, in Isaiah 17. Though it may be referring to the Assyrian invasion in 732 B.C., verses from the same chapter seem to be referencing a future invasion as well. We know that often times prophecy has a near-far fulfillment meaning that God may choose to partially fulfill it for His purposes only to fully fulfill it later.

Let’s examine the text.

Isaiah 17:1 NASB The oracle concerning Damascus. “Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin.

It then goes on to describe the destruction.

Then, in verse 7 it says,

In that day man will have regard for his Maker And his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel.

[Isaiah 17:7 NASB]

Isaiah is telling us that, as a result of the destruction, the people of Syria will look to God for salvation. I don’t know that Syria turned to God after the Assyrian invasion in 732 B.C., but they certainly are not looking to Him now. This suggests a future fulfillment that has yet to come.

I encourage you to read the entire chapter.

This, by the way… what we are witnessing in the Middle East with the kingdom of the Antichrist being formed as an Islamic Caliphate… is the next event on the prophetic calendar and not a Pre-Trib Rapture.

The 2nd Law of Financial Dynamics and the 3rd Seal of Revelation

08.06.2011

Sometimes, as Americans, I think we forget that the rest of the world exists.

This financial mess we have been experiencing for some time now is a world-wide event.

This is why I don’t believe it’s going to be fixed in our country even if our Congress somehow managed to do the right things. The very next day after our Congress met to alleviate our own financial problem, Moody’s still warned of a credit rating downgrade.

In fact, just days later, it has happened.

John prophesies a world-wide economic collapse. Did you know that God has revealed through prophecy that the world will experience economic collapse/food crisis? He has, in Revelation 6:5-6. It is the 3rd seal that is broken during the Tribulation. It reads like this in the NASB:

Revelation 6:5-6 NASB  When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  [6]  And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”

You’ve heard of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics? Well, this is the 2nd Law of Financial Dynamics. God says the world will experience an economic breakdown. There will come a time when an entire day’s wages will only be enough to buy a day’s meal while those who hold the real power will be safe and secure, humanly speaking of course. You see, with money comes power until you’re the one in power and then you don’t need any money.

I also believe with this prophesy will come the world-wide oppression of people.

God has appointed and end. One of the things that is consistent throughout Bible prophecy is that things will not always go on the way they are now. There will be a breakdown. The world is approaching an appointed end [Ecclesiastes 3:1]. There will come a time when we will no longer recover from economic calamities. Considering the scope of this economic crisis and other trends, I believe that potential is here, now.

The 3rd seal has not been broken yet because the 1st seal has not been broken. Above, I said this is the 3rd seal that is broken during the Tribulation. It’s called the 3rd seal because it’s broken third. It stands to reason that the 1st and 2nd seals will be broken before this. Therefore, the 3rd seal has not been broken yet, but it appears to be approaching.

Next on the prophetic calendar. What we should looking for, then, is the rise of the Antichrist to power. This is the 1st seal. It is the start of the 7 year Tribulation.

Scripture says the Antichrist will rise to power as king of the North [Daniel 11]. This is the modern-day area of Syria/Lebanon/Turkey. The kingdom of the South is Egypt, where the recent, ongoing revolts in the Middle East started.

Interestingly, shortly after Libya began revolting, the US was supporting Turkey to invade. This shows that the kingdom of the North is almost ready to come south [Daniel 11:40] however it’s not yet time. According to Daniel, the Antichrist must be the leader of this north kingdom first. You should also know that there is talk about the reformation of an Islamic Caliphate and Turkey is seeking to double the size of its army.

Don’t be fooled, these revolts are hardly democratic. I mentioned Libya above. Well, Ghaddafi’s son has recently announced that they are aligning with the very Islamists that began the revolt. What we can conclude is that the kingdom of the Antichrist is forming in the Middle East right now.

What else is Bible prophecy consistent about?

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

Another thing the Bible is quite adamant about is the Return of Christ. The culmination of the terrible time to come is His Return for those who love Him. Christ is the purpose of prophecy. Those who have found life in Christ will not suffer the Wrath of God. It’s His promise [Romans 5:8-9].

There is more to us than what we see in this world. If we are honest with ourselves, we all know this. We are spiritual beings created by God who seeks our restoration to Him, the remedy of a terrible, spiritual disease known as sin. This has been accomplished on the Cross through His Son, Jesus Christ, as a free gift for those who will take it. Christ, the very One who died for you, says you are either with Him or against Him.

“He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
[Matthew 12:30 NASB]

Notice, there is an action implied. Those of us who claim to love Jesus must have a heart for and be involved in the gathering of others to Him. It is not enough just to say you are a Christian because your an American or your parents were or you’re not Buddhist, Islamic or Atheist so you must be.

Where are you?

The World into 10

04.23.2011

Many of us wonder where the United States is in Bible prophecy. My simple answer is it’s not anywhere in Bible prophecy. This is shocking to most of us. I mean, since we are such a great nation, we’ve got to be mentioned somewhere, right? In the following article, I will lay out my reasoning as to why the U.S. is not found in Bible prophecy.

Over 2,600 years ago, Daniel wrote about a last, end-time, world kingdom right before a returning Christ. He described it as a terrible, ten-horned beast.

“After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
[Daniel 7:7 NASB]

The ten horns are ten kings that will rule during this time [Rev 17:12]. Daniel also tells us that this ten-nation kingdom will be in place before the Antichrist makes his appearance [Dan 7:8, 23-24]. The language suggests this kingdom will be global. Surely the United States, the world’s single superpower, will step up and do something before this happens, right?

In light of the recent financial troubles the world is experiencing, and the reality of world superstates, I will demonstrate how it is possible that the United States, as we know it now, may not even exist in the near future. (more…)
